I have chili plants from seeds, which were doing really good and now they have beautiful chilies. Problem: lately I've been seeing the leaves have white spots and today I saw tiny white bugs around those spots, which seem to be spreading. FYI: This whole scenario started with my Mint leaves and Basil, which were kept right beside the chili plants (All indoors, separate pots), around 7-10 days back. I didn't realize that it was some disease, so I trimmed all mint and basil leaves but the new growing leaves also seem to have the same thing again. What can I do to get rid of this supposed disease? I have Neem Oil. I don't want to lose my chili plants which I've spent so much time on!
Look for signs of aphids, if found, spray twice weekly, with mild soap water making sure u get under all leaves. Tough battle, persistence prevails.

Can I take a hot chili pepper, just picked from the plant, and cut into small slices and plant these for regrowth... without drying the seeds?
No, you will need to harvest the seeds and dry them.

I brought my chili plants inside for the winter and noticed holes on few of my plants. What causes it and is there any cure? I'm also afraid that bacterial leaf spot is present. Also found two slugs on the plant.
This could be insects or fungus problems.
Always a good idea to spray plants before bringing them indoors.
Washing with a spray of water and then a treatment with Neem Oil is a good idea.
Neem Oil works as both an insecticide and fungicide; it is safe for people and pets.

I have been growing the small hot chili peppers for years. I continually reseed in the same pot. I bring them in in the fall and they produce nice foliage throughout the winter. I return them outside in the late spring and usually harvest over a 100 peppers off each pot. I have been doing this for about 10 years. This year was different! My long, skinny hot peppers are now round small peppers! Shocked! It's like they have gone mutant on me. They tasted okay, but was wondering if I need to clear out the pots and start over. This baffles me, never seen this before. Any advice? I have uploaded an image. The one on the left is normal. One on the right....who knows. They were harvested from the same pot.
There can be a few reasons for distorted peppers and it can be quite common in pepper plants.
Environmental changes, inconsistent water, lack of nutrients and a plant that is getting quite old may all be reasons.
Make sure you are using good quality fresh potting soil each season.
Save seeds from the healthiest peppers.
Like tomatoes, can you bury part of the stem of a Capsicum plant when transplanting in order to encourage more root production? Thank you.
This is how I plant my pepper transplants. I remove the first set of leaves and plant deep.
How deep do you plant your chili pepper seeds in a pot to start growing? I have packet of chili pepper seeds and would like know how deep to plant them in my pot or pots for growing.
Not very deep at all. Place your seeds on the surface of the soil, then cover them over with a scant 3 millimeters of soil. You just want the seeds just below the surface.
