We have just moved into a new home with a well established garden. However, the Cannas look miserable - small, brown leaves with quite a bit of an infection, I think. I have attached some pictures. We live in Kampala, Uganda. It's near the equator but at a slight altitude. So relatively cool, lots of rain, and great gardening all year round. Thanks in advance for your help
This appears to be a Rust Fungus.

I would like to dry canna Australia dark maroon leaves for floral decor. Is there a special method?
Left to air dry I believe they would curl up.
I would try pressing the leaves. Layer them between several layers of blank newsprint and weight the leaves with some heavy books.
I have Canna plants with big green leaves. What is making chew marks on all the leaves? Looks almost like human teeth bites! I looked at the leaves and I didn't see any bugs or aphids on the underside of the leaves but something is eating the leaves one by one. Please help!!!

Possibly it's due to canna leaf rollers. See the article above. Good luck
I'm a first time gardener with canna and I fell upon a giant and a beauty. I want to store them for the winter but, unfortunately, it's October now so I decided to cut everything off and leave about a foot of the stems on. I did wash them and they're drying them now. Will they still be ok? I guess I was supposed to wait for the foliage to die back? Thanks
Leaving the Canna in the ground until the first few light frosts lets the bulbs store as much energy as they can.
If your bulbs dry and store with no issues, you will likely have no issues, perhaps just not as much growth or flowers as if you left them in longer.
We as gardeners are always learning!

What is the proper way to fertilize cannas outdoors? I get some that grow 5 to 6 feet and then 10 feet away they grow 3 feet...in the same sunlight and soil. HELP!
Here is an excellent article that will give you some good tips for optimizing the growing conditions for the Canna Lily.

I have a Canna Lily in a plastic pot and had it in a nice sunny location for several months. The plant grew very nice (4 feet tall) but no flowers! Why am I not getting the beautiful orange flowers?
It may be a little too soon to despair - it is not entirely unusual for a canna lily to not bloom during its first year as it may be focusing more energy on its growth than on its blooms. However, insufficient sun and water, poor soil, and overcrowding can be to blame. Barring that, another possibility is a lack of phosphorus, which is responsible for blooming. This can easily be remedied by adding a "bloom booster" fertilizer or some bone meal to the soil.

I planted my canna bulbs in a pot this year and I would like to know if I can keep it alive in the house in the pot?
Canna bulbs will need a rest and dormancy period.
You would not be able to keep them as a house plant.
