I'm looking to expand the types of house plants I have to enjoy, and need non-toxic ones because my cat eats whatever she can reach. Would bromeliads be an option for Colorado, seeing as it's not a humid state? Thank you, ~Kathie

To take care of them, you need to give them some water in their center part and keep the soil a bit wet but not too much. Make sure they get light but not direct sun, and keep the air around them humid. Feed them some balanced plant food now and then. These articles will go into more detail:
