I put calcified seaweed on my Phyllostachyis Nigra by mistake (I thought it was Fish Blood and Bone) and all the leaves are dying. I have tried to remove as much of the top layer of soil as possible but is there anything else I can do? Thanks
Try flooding the garden with lots of water. Here is more:

I AM PLANNING TO BUILD ROOFTOP GARDEN IN THE CITY . WHICH IS THE BEST SUITED BAMBOO PLANTS FROM DECORATION AND LOOK POINT OF VIEW
Most species of Bamboo will be very tolerant of a wide range of conditions. With this being said, you might choose based on your personal preference. Just be sure to give it plenty of water, and well draining soil (not clay) to ensure its survival on a rooftop.

The stems are still green and black and leaves have not fallen
Did you protect them from freezing weather? These articles should help:

Hi, we want to use bamboo as a screen outside a bathroom window (instead of frosted glass or a blind), so it needs to be fairly dense (although we are not really overlooked). It is on a first floor balcony that's not that easy to access. We only want it to grow about 2-3mt high, but I guess we can prune it to keep it that height -?? What type of bamboo would you suggest? Many thanks for your help Faye
Here are some articles about the types of bamboo and different varieties. I will caution you, we get a lot of emails from people who wish they never started bamboo. It may overtake your trough much faster than you think. I would get a clumping bamboo even if it will be in a container.

I am hoping this is a bamboo and not some kind of Knotweed, could you advise please, the picture is a sample, it is growing to about 5 foot in a couple of days and is hollow. New shoots seem to appear every couple of days
The leaves on bamboo are more linear and the leaves on Japanese knotweed are more triangular. You don't want either one growing in your yard (or your concrete) so I suggest getting rid of this as soon as possible. Here is more:

Hi- Have been trying to identify these plants for years. I have been in and out of websites and am a Master Gardener but these have me baffled. The first grows like a columnar arborvitae but the leaves are spiky. Mine never gets above 8 ft. The elk love them but they always bounce back. The other picture is geranium like but the flowers are in a tight bud as you can see and do not open. They slowly spread but not by seed. Any information on these plants would be greatly appreciated. I love your website and find it very informative. Pictures are included. Thank you!!
The first looks like, either, a species of Bambusa or Fargesia. The second is a type of Ranunculus.
