I covered 4 azalea bushes last fall. I live in the Chicagoland area. What temperatures (night time and day time) would be safe for me to uncover them. Thank you.
When you're sure all danger of frost has passed, I think your azaleas will appreciate being uncovered. You are in zone 5b.
Here's an article on azalea care:

2 years ago my azalea budded up but last year and large brance died, it budded as normal but this year 3 large branches have diedone. What can I do. She is planted in the garden. When should I remove the dead branches?
I would remove the dead branches after it finishes blooming. It could be twig blight. Here is more:

I have an azalea plant in a pot that has not bloomed, what do I add to soil to make it acidic
This article will help:

Is there something I should do differently or something I can do now to prevent future problems?
Unfortunately, your photos did not come through. I am unable to see the issue at hand. It could be that the mulch is too deep. This can suffocate the roots. Another thing to consider is the source of the mulch, and if it could have been infected with something, already.
Mulch that is soaking wet should be avoided, as it may be a sign that it stays wet.
What I can do, in the meantime, is point you toward an article that will explain what kind of care that they require to keep them healthy:
What kind of soil & how deep I zone 5b
You need to plant it in fertile, acidic soil in the shade. If it's the Encore azaleas, they can take more sun. They should be planted as deep as they were in the container, and no deeper. Here is more:
1st three pictures are of the worst of the 3 plants. Leaves are yellowed, dead branches in places, whitish spots and looks stunted with minimal blooms. Not sure if all from improper pruning from garden service (for all 3 plants) which have been left alone for about 2-3 years. Gets morning to mid afternoon sun and gets used coffee grounds, tea leaves and egg shells about 3 times during spring to fall. Last two pictures of plants show less blooms than usual, one has areas of black spots and one has white spots. These last two get minimal sun on north east side of house. I have a product called EcoSmart Organic Garden Insect Killer which I would like to use or something organic rather than the insecticides noted on-line that I looked up for thee issues. Is my first plant salvageable?
Yes, you can use that insecticide in case it is mites or another pest or use Neem oil, which is nontoxic. It also could be the soil is not acidic enough so you may want to test your pH. Also use a fertilizer for azaleas, rhododendrons.
Prune out the dead wood and rake up all the dropped leaves, so as not to spread a disease.
