When planting an azalea, how deep into the soil do you need to go?
Azalea roots tend to be pretty shallow and delicate. This article may help you:

I have never trimmed back our azalea plants since we moved into this house, 2 years ago. The plants have grown tall and are still woody looking. Will I do damage to them if I cut back some of the taller branches? They are really not looking very good, and I would like to cut them back, but do not want to kill them either. Please advise.

We recently planted a potted azalea. We decided about two weeks later to replant to a different location. Our azalea flowers are not as vibrant now and are falling off. Is this normal or did we kill our plant? Should we dig it out and return it to the store where we purchased it? Thank you for any and all help. Kathy
Transplanting likely stressed your plant and caused the plant to drop flowers.
Most varieties of Azalea bloom once in the season, though some are early, some mid season and others late bloomers.
There are some varieties that bloom more then once a season, called Encore Azaleas.
Hello, I have a white azalea bush that is blooming in some spots and others are drying out when I snap the twig there is green should I cut out the dried branches or leave them, they are mixed in throughout the bush?
Dense areas of foliage may not be receiving enough sunlight to blossom.
Your plant looks quite healthy.

Most of my old shrub is dead wood, there is new growth on one side, after they are finished blooming, can I prune the dead wood and hope for the best?
Yes, you can cut a few inches below where the wood first shows signs of being dead (in other words, prune slightly deeper than the dead wood). This article may help you:
