I have Voles getting into my hanging plants, eating on the roots of the plants thus killing them. I live in Western Kentucky, USA. as i understand it, unlike moles, who eat insects, they go for vegetation. I have no pictures, have already thrown plants away. I know they are the Voles because of the size of their entry hole one the side of the plant. Thank you
Voles can be quite destructive. This article has some information for you on control of these pests.

Ways to discourage rabbits. Can’t fence. Too big a garden to fence each plant.
An alternative to fencing each individual plant will be to fence the entire garden plot as one. This is the best way to keep rabbits out.
There are other ways to get rid of them, though. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/animals/keep-rabbits-out-of-gardens.htm

I have had moles for a few years now. I also have a dog that has been digging up the moles. Currently I’m not seeing any moles, but I have lots of brown grass.I have applied milky spore this year in May. I have read it needs to be applied 3 times per year for 2 years. I also understand summer and fall are good times to apply milky spore. If my information is inaccurate please inform me as to the correct methods.
This article is our recommended methods of mole control.
