Certified ExpertA.They can be. If you have a problem with stray cats in the veggie garden, just make sure to wash your vegetables well. Washing will make them safe from the possible bacteria in the cat feces.

Certified ExpertA.For the most part, they are deer resistant. That being said, no matter what the plant, if a deer is very hungry, it will eat almost anything. This is why they say deer resistant rather than deer proof.

Certified ExpertA.There is no evidence to support that this works. I have never seen it kill moles, but the smell of it (being a very human smell) may drive them off. Again, nothing to support this though.

Certified ExpertA.Many extension services do feel it is effective. Here is the recipe: Mix 6 ounces of castor oil and 2 tbsp of dish soap in one gallon of water. This becomes the concentrate. Mix one ounce of concentrate per gallon of water and apply to the lawn. Reapply of it rains.

April 9, 2011A.goodquuenbess was told in eastern coastal NC that an empty pepsi or other beverage boltle planted in the yard up to the rim of the bottle and the wind would cause the bottle to make the annoying sounds the moles cannot stand. they will leave the annoying area asap
