Q.Something Is Eating My Zucchini

Zone WA state | Reddy33L added on September 1, 2012 | Answered

Something is eating my zucchini (not the plant). Plant is healthy and no sign of slugs, though it looks like slugs, but I don’t find any around. What other critter could it be and what can I do to protect the “fruit”?

Slugs can literally devour plants overnight, when they come out--this is why you don't see them. They feed at night. Read this article for some advice on getting rid of them: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/facts-about-slugs-and-how-to-kill-garden-slugs.htm

Neem oil is an effective treatment for most ofther insect pests. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/pesticides/neem-oil-uses.htm
