Something Is Eating My Zucchini

Something is eating my zucchini (not the plant). Plant is healthy and no sign of slugs, though it looks like slugs, but I don’t find any around. What other critter could it be and what can I do to protect the “fruit”?

Slugs can literally devour plants overnight, when they come out–this is why you don’t see them. They feed at night. Read this article for some advice on getting rid of them: [1]
