Replant Peonies In Fall?

Question

I have two peonies in two small whiskey barrels and a peony that became overcrowded in the garden. I live in Anchorage Alaska. Fall is quickly approaching and I need to know how to winter it. I can use all the help that I can get. First peonies! Help! Thank you.
