Q.Removed Very Tough And Invasive Pampas Grass From Garden Area 12×25’ . What Do I Do Next? Black Plastic?…or Can I Plant And

use weed fabric? (No pesticides) Removed about 150 lbs of runners (as thick as your finger!!!) I don’t want to do it again! Would like to plant a mini flowering crab apple….what do you advise? What type of weed barrier should i use???

I would use a combination of things to kill it off! Boiling water will be the first thing. Pour this on the spot twice a day for a few days, just for good measure.

After the boiling water treatment, I would cover it with plastic for a few weeks at the least. This will help to solarize and kill off any remaining seeds, or runners.
