Relocating And Dividing Pampas Grass

The page states that moving the pampas grass must be done in the spring. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/pampas-grass/moving-pampas-grass.htm What happens if I move it now early fall, I live in Tacoma Washington.

It should be fine if you transplant now. You still have plenty of time for the roots to reestablish before cold weather sets in.
