Q.Propagating Peonies

Can the small sprouts that come up around a peony be dug up by it’s self for replanting instead of digging up the whole plant?

It might be possible to do this, but in order to include the eye that comes from the rhizome, you may have to dig around a bit, which could damage the rest of the plant. It might be safer to lift the plant and separate the parts from the rhizome.
