Q.Plant identification

Zone Pretoria | Isabel added on December 8, 2017 | Answered

Hallo,

Can you identify the plant in the photo below – I believe it could be in the genus – Cereus, but are not quite sure what it is. It is a ‘hanging’ plant with ‘litted’ leaves. Night blooming, very fragrant flowers. The flowers and fragrance last only one night.

Thank you
Isabel

It does appear to be in the Cereus genus, but I would be unable to identify it exactly. You can take it to your local extension service, and they should be able to pinpoint it for you.

Here is an article on the Night Blooming Cereus: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/cacti-succulents/night-blooming-cereus/
