Q.Outdoor Poinsettia-how To Get Blooms?
I had a beautiful poinsettia that I planted outside this summer. I figured I didn’t have anything to lose, I’d see what happened. It’s thriving, it’s huge with tons of green leaves. I assume I will need to pot it and bring it in before it gets cold. How do I ensure it blooms and I get flowers for Christmas?
Yes, you can temporarily plant it outside now but bring it inside into a pot once overnight temperatures approach 50F or less. The one I had in the Caribbean was planted to get mostly shade but below is more applicable information for growing indoors in colder locations. Avoid letting the soil get very dry or near hot/cold air vents inside.
