Q.My Tree Needs Quite A Bit Of Pruning. How Much Should I Do At One Time?

I trimmed quite a bit in October. I am in Nebraska. It needs more pruning. How long Should I wait between prunings.

The best time to prune is early spring and you should only prune 25 percent of the canopy at one time.

Fall pruning can be risky because the tree might not have enough time to harden off before winter.

If you only do minor pruning this spring it should be OK. But I would wait till next spring to do any more major pruning.
