Q.My hibiscus is losing leaves and they are yellowing

Zone ??? San Francisco | AlanBeachNelson added on June 16, 2012 | Answered

I bought a beautiful Hibiscus that was pretty full with flowers and leaves. It is planted in a cedar planter box. Leaves are now turning yellow, and the foliage is diminishing – looking sparse. Flowers are also a bit pale when they were vibrant pink. What might I be doing wrong? I live in San Francisco in a sunny part of the city. It gets full sun, temps are typically in the high 60s, low 70s.

There are several reasons this can happen, normally associated with stress of some kind. This article explains many of them and will help you decide which is likely for your plant: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/hibiscus/answers-to-what-causes-hibiscus-leaves-turning-yellow.htm
