Q.Mop Head Hydrangea Has Some Lacecap Heads

I was wondering if it is unusual to have heads of lacecap on a mop head hydrangea.

The Lacecap and the Mophead are both H. macrophylla. The Lacecap is just a different variant of the Mophead, and it is not impossible for Mopheads to grow sterile flowers in the center.
