Q.Is My Zone 4 Hardy Magnolia In Danger From A Spring Snow?

Zone 55406 | Shelleydes@gmail.com added on April 16, 2023 | Answered

We have a magnolia hardy enough for our Minnesota clomate. It’s done well, flowering each year. The buds are just about to bloom, and we’re expecting a late-season snow of 3-4″. Is there anything we should try to do for our alomst-flowers?

There is no harm in this, at all! They are hardy down to areas where they will, normally, flower while the snow is still falling.
