cutting back pampas grass

Question

In zone 5B (Minden, N Nevada), when should pampas grass be trimmed back? I was planning on cutting back the pampas grass at the beginning of February. The day temps are in the high 50’s, lows 28F to 38F. Would that be correct?

Prune your pampas grass in late winter or early spring, preferably just before new growth appears.
