Q.I think my plant is dying

Zone Merthyr tydfil. South wales | leanne added on August 22, 2015 | Answered

I was bought a plant as a house warming gift about 4 weeks ago. It has been going great and bloomed lovely and I have been taking extra care to not under or over water it as it’s my first plant. But the last week it has changed and started to shrivel up and turn from purple to white and looks like it’s dying. I haven’t done anything different apart from put it on my back window to get more light. I think it’s a species of the Campanula bellflower and really don’t want it to die. Can you offer any help? And will it be able to live in my house? It’s a very warm house at all times with our heating on is that a factor to why it’s not growing and looks like it’s dying?

If your plant is a Campanula, it is a perennial and would not do well as a house plant.
It would be happy to be planted out in your garden.

If it is stressed, and is showing signs of fading and drying. It may not have received enough sunlight and water.
You can try planting outdoor and water daily for the first 2 weeks. Then cut back.
