When starting plants from seeds, you may not get an identical parent if there was hybridization going on to breed certain characteristics. The best way to get an identical dahlia is vegetatively through stem cuttings or replanting the rhizome. You likely won't get flowers the first season from seeds but it can be a fun project to see what you get.
I suspect that is why your leaves look a bit different from the parent. Here is more:
