This can be done, occasionally, but doing so too often will lead to soil infections or microbe buildup. This is, likely, what you are smelling.

I would opt for pre-made fertilizers if you wish to avoid the smell. Alternatively, you can compost the milk tea as long as you add plenty of brown material to absorb it.
