The plant was 8-10 inches tall with many branches and “rosettes” at the end of each branck. What was it and where can I get another?

Unfortunately, this describes several genus, species, and cultivars. Giving you a name of a plant will be difficult. If you can find a picture of it then this can help. I would recommend looking around at your local nurseries or online ones for ideas on what this could be.
