How well would an outside yucca do in a large pot in semi shade? What kind of pot? Deep or wide? What kind of planting medium?

They can do fine in that spot, though in semi shade, you may see slow growth and it will not bloom much.

As for a pot, a deep one is better. Soil should be a well draining potting soil with just a little sand mixed in.
