Q.How To Grow A Plumeria
We have a plumeria that we brought as a 8 inch stalk in Hawaii in 2008. It has never been anything but a stalk. It produces leaves, drops leaves, and continues as a stalk. Right now, it\’s about 3 ft tall with 7 mature leaves with a new one sprouting from the center. How can we make this something besides a stalk.

Your plumeria may be lacking sufficient light if grown indoors. To remedy this, consider pruning the tip above a leaf node to encourage branching and use a balanced fertilizer with higher phosphorus for flowering. Plumerias thrive in full sunlight, so if grown indoors, ensure they receive at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. If natural light is insufficient, supplement with artificial lighting such as fluorescent or LED grow lights positioned a few inches above the plant. Rotate the plant regularly for even light exposure. Additionally, maintain well-draining soil, regulate watering, and be patient for the plant to develop branches and potentially flower.
