Repairing Young Trees With Cat Scratch Damage

Gerry Wright added on May 13, 2014 | Answered

How do we repair two young trees that a cat has scratched all the way around? The trees have been planted for 3 weeks and yesterday we discovered that something has scratched all the way around each one below the branches. My husband wrapped the small trunk in a damp towel and taped it around the damaged area and then put a hard plastic cover around it.
