Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHow do we repair two young trees that a cat has scratched all the way around? The trees have been planted for 3 weeks and yesterday we discovered that something has scratched all the way around each one below the branches. My husband wrapped the small trunk in a damp towel and taped it around the damaged area and then put a hard plastic cover around it.

In addition, if you wrap the trunk loosely with chicken wire, that should keep the cat from scratching.
