Q.Hostas

Zone Omaha, NE zone 5 | sue.burroughs added on May 25, 2017 | Answered

I have the variety with darker green leaves that have white varietion. They are primarily in the shade. This year the leaves have started curling.

They were planted 3 yrs ago. I have watered and fertilized as usual (Miacle Grow food).

I’m not sure what to do about the curling leaves. This has never happened before now.

Please help!

Some larger Hosta leaves do have a natural growth leaf structure of a slight cupping.

Curled leaves could indicate a pest issue. Inspect the plants to see if you can spy anything. Caterpillars often wrap leaves around themselves.

Neem Oil can be used for most pests and is organic.
