Q.hosta destruction

Zone chichester,west sussex | bri added on April 26, 2017 | Answered

my hostas are regularly destroyed, and I never seem to find the culprits[snails or slugs]I am almost certain they are being attacked by aiborne insects,[species unknown].last year I tried vinegar and water with little success, this year I am considering a garlic wash, but I am conserned about the smell it may leave,[the garden I maintain is a communal garden so I have to consider other residents].any advice would be halpful
