We have already had our 1st frost & possible more to come. When do I prune this Salvia & cut back to what height?

Typically, you will only prune dead or damaged growth. There will be no need to prune any living growth. Prune as it dies off. As for the flowering raceme- This will, also, be pruned after the flower dies. It will be removed as far down as you can.
