Q.Flowering Dogwood

Zone 28560 | pko1961 added on May 13, 2018 | Answered

We have a 4 year old dogwood that has done fine until this year.It sprouted out new growth and leaves as usual at the end of March – first of April. About 2 weeks ago I noticed that all the new growth died. The little leaves shriveled and it looks like it is dying. There is still green under the bark and it feels flexible. But no new life.?????

There are several diseases that dogwoods are susceptible to. See if you can identify one and locate the appropriate treatment. Examining the fallen leaves may give clues. Also look for insect entry holes in the bark.
