Q.Dwarf Peach Tree Has Shoots From Base….

Following up on the dwarf peach tree…I removed the suckers and noticed that 2 had roots…..Can I soak them in water for a few days to promote more roots and plant as a new tree?? The original tree is not showing signs of life but I wanted to give it till next spring before I uproot it.

Graft failure usually occurs from wet and compacted soils, which looks to be the case here.

The peach suckers growing are from a non-fruiting root stock, most likely. The fruits that do form on occasion will be hard and inedible.
