Does Anyone Know Whats Happening To This Bougainvillea? How About The Lilac?

Just planted the Bougainvillea and it looks like the branches are dying and no new flowers. The leaves are turning yellow on the Lilac but at least it is flowering.

If this is a fresh planting, then I would chalk it up to transplant shock. Overwatering will make this worse, so keep the soil slightly moist, but don't water it unless it is almost dry.
