Q.Do hibiscus blooms have to be sprayed for any pests?

Zone Florida | Kellyflower added on April 18, 2015 | Answered

I have a potted braided hibiscus in my lanai. I recently noticed, while watering, the buds and the flowers had something on them. Are these little bugs? I’m enclosing a picture. If so, what do you suggest spraying it with?

This is gall possibly caused by Hibiscus erineum mites, which can be treated with a miticide.
