Crepe Myrtle diseased

Zone Los Banos California | Anonymous added on September 8, 2018 | Answered

My Crepe Myrtle is about 12 years old. It looks as if the leaves have been dipped in oil. They are drooping. Help? What can I use to fix my tree? I can send a picture but the tree is planted at the church as a memorial tree in honor of my daughter. it is a lavender one and did not bloom this year.

The problem seems to be a mold issue. Luckily the problem tends to resolve itself over time. Sooty mold will commonly affect crapemyrtle. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/crepe-myrtle/crepe-myrtle-tree-problems.htm
