Can I Use Regular Potting Mix With Lava Rock To Plant My Desert Rose

That is all I have is regular Miracle Grow potting mix and a bag of lava rock. Do I just put a lava rock at the bottom and potting soil on top to plant this desert rose I have? It’s still a baby.

If you can, purchase a bag of perlite and use equal parts perlite and potting soil. I don't think the lava rock will provide adequate drainage. (If you can pound it into tiny pieces it might.) Desert rose is susceptible to root rot so care must be taken to ensure the soil is well draining.
