Q.Bougainvillea Flowering Problem

Hello,I have a bougainvillea plant in a pot. Earlier entire plant used to flower, but a few months ago I cut it and since then it only flowers on the tips. And also, the branches are growing longer than earlier. Can I get initial condition of my plant back? Where did I go wrong? Please help. Thank you in advance. 🙂

Unfortunately, your photos did not come through. The plant may be lacking light, or nutrients. It would be hard to say without seeing the state of the plant.
