Q.Black Lily / Lilium Landini – Any Chance Of Second Growth?
A “friend” took my potted Lilium inside to protect it whilst I was away to protect it from the cold. Needless to say due to warmth and direct sunshine through window it sprouted weak shoots 3 months earlier than normal. The stalks, leaves and flower heads look spindly and are clearly not going to produce any flowers. This plant year-in-year out for 10 years has given me fantastic blooms. Is there any way I can save t this year? I thought about cutting the stalks down and hoping it might get a second sprout of growth. Or should I just accept that this year it is not going to produce its fantastic flowers. I would really appreciate advice and expertise. Lis

I recommend just letting it go ahead and flower now. Once lilies produce a stalk with buds, that is it. When the blooms fade, it won't produce a second flush of flowers.
