best shrubs & plants for a neat and tidy landscaped area in front of house that add color?

i would like to have color in these plants & shrubs. have no clue what to plant. I like mulched area, with neat and tidy plants intermitten, or maybe even a small hedge (2 feet tall), and then colored blooms in front of it? it’s a 15 by 6 area
