best shrubs & plants for a neat and tidy landscaped area in front of house that add color?

i would like to have color in these plants & shrubs. have no clue what to plant. I like mulched area, with neat and tidy plants intermitten, or maybe even a small hedge (2 feet tall), and then colored blooms in front of it? it’s a 15 by 6 area

Also visit your local garden centers and greenhouses for shrubs that would work in your garden. They often have test gardens and you can see the shrubs planted and mature.
