am going to dig and transplant iris from one garden to another which involves flying plants out.to new garden. how?
best way to pack for air transport please, Is it legal?
p.s. Cut the leaves down to 4 inches for transport.
The best way to transport iris is to wash off the soil then wrap in slightly dampened paper towel. Seal in plastic bag. (plant as soon as possible) TSA allows plants as long as they comply with carry-on baggage rules. USDA and WA Dept of Agriculture have quarantine rules but these apply to bulk nursery stock.
