Q.age of mountain laurel

Zone Salem SC, Oconee county 29676 | Anonymous added on April 15, 2020 | Answered

I have dozens of mountain laurel on my property, lakeside in upstate South Carolina. What is the age limit of this plant? These are quite old and not in great shape. I am wondering if I need to remove them and start new.

The consensus seems to be around 75 years. You may want to gradually replace them, just a section at a time. This article will help you to care for these shrubs: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/mountain-laurel/mountain-laurel-growing.htm
