Ants on Roses

Question

I have a rose bush. I do not know the name of it. But I have ants crawling on it. Is this natural? If not, what do we do keep insects off?

Also, you may want to check your roses for pests, such as aphids. They can leave behind a sticky residue, called honeydew, which ants are attracted to.
