Ants on Roses

I have a rose bush. I do not know the name of it. But I have ants crawling on it. Is this natural? If not, what do we do keep insects off?

If you haven’t read it, this article may help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/keeping-ants-of-flowering-vines-vegetables-and-flowers.htm [1]

Also, you may want to check your roses for pests, such as aphids. They can leave behind a sticky residue, called honeydew, which ants are attracted to. Taking care of the pests responsible will normally take care of the ants. Oftentimes, neem oil will help treat mant pest problems and is perfectly safe for use on vegetable plants.
