Why do my zucchini grow flowers but I get no veggie with it? Same for my squash, flowers but no veggies.
Most likely a pollination problem.
Here is a link with more information.
Well-growing squash of several types with many male flowers, but no female flowers, therefore no vegetables. Several plants of each species planted together in hills. Soil tested by AG extension at the beginning of the season. We have large healthy foliage and long runners with plenty of male blossoms. Very few female blossoms. Soil is good, tested well, and we added some general fertilizer as we turned the soil. This is the second year this has happened.
This could be pollination problems.
Do you see bees in the garden?
Hand pollinated may be worth a try.
Try a dose of Bone Meal to increase the Phosphorous level just a bit to try to increase flowering.

I have some squash/pumpkin type plants growing out of my vegetable garden (sprinkled with some of my last year's compost this spring) which I did not plant. I thought they'd be fun to grow and they have been (right now some are at least 20 feet long along my back fence). They have lots of blossoms, but I'm not seeing any fruit set on anywhere. Can't even tell what they are! I looked up the leaves, and they have to be a squash of some kind. I'm assuming the pollination process is having trouble! Do I continue to just let them grow and hope a fruit will happen? What exactly has to happen for pumpkins to set on?
If you have not read this yet, the following article should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/squash/pollinate-squash-by-hand.htm
I have powdery mildew on zucchini plants. I read that a 9:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide spray will kill the mildew. I cut off some of the nastiest looking leaves but put them in my composter (a mistake I now realize). Can I spray the peroxide mix into my composter to kill the spores?
If you can retrieve any of the leaves, do so.
If you don't have a large amount of compost, you may want to discard it.
If not, I would treat the compost, I may suggest switching to Neem Oil for this.

I was given 2 mystery squash plants by a friend, and they are starting to produce squash, but I am not sure what they are...whether they are winter or summer, and whether to leave them on the vine or to harvest them. In search images, I could not find a picture that looks just like them. Is it possible to post a picture and get help identifying them?
Yes, send in a picture and we can help to identify the plants you have.
Why are my squash dying as they start to form from the blooms? This is my first time for spaghetti squash and the vines are everywhere. I have 1 big squash and lots of blooms. BUT when the squash starts forming from the bloom, they get about an inch or so and start turn yellow and mushy and then die off. I have lots of them but I don't know what is happening with them. Are they being watered too much or what? I live in Chattanooga, Tn. Please help.
Most likely a pollination issue.

I am new to growing squash and have grown the Small Sugar squash but I am not sure when to harvest them. Can you please help in any way?
This is a winter squash. You normally leave these on the vine until the end of the season. But, if you need or want to harvest it earlier, the whole squash should be its ripe color and should feel heavy for its size.
