On the same website, I read that pomegranates like alkaline soil, then on the next page acidic soil. Confusing. Which is it?
Pomegranate will grow in most types of well draining soil.
Some people do contend that the soil type should be in the slightly acidic to neutral range, but Pomegranate will grow well in alkaline soil as well.
About growing Pomegranate Trees. What pH should the planting soil have? Here it says 7.5 - 8.0: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/pomegranate/growing-pomegranate-tree-seeds.htm And here it says 5.5 - 7.0: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/pomegranate/no-pomegranates-on-trees.htm
The last one, 5.5-7.5 would be more ideal. I believe the first article meant to say the pH can go up to 7.5 or 8, though 7.5 seems to be the consensus. That article has been sent to the editors for review and correction. Sorry, for the confusion.
I bought a house with pomegranate bush. It has a lot of fruits. I was waiting until they got ripe. But when harvested, I found its seeds all white, not dark burgundy like I use to buy in stores. Are they edible?
Different cultivators produce Pomegranates with white or pink seeds. They are all edible.
Some say the pink and white seeds are sweeter. Enjoy!
What is the bug that gets into the blossom end of pomegranates? It looks like it might be mealybug or aphids and what can I do to the plant to not get have this problem when we get fruit next year? I don't have a photo to show you.
It could be Whitefly, Scale or Mealybugs.
Neem Oil is a good treatment for either of these pests.

Do you need two or more to fruit?
You don't need two trees to produce fruit, but it can help increase fruit production:

How to control? TELYA
Research shows that sanitation in growing and care are vital.
This along with applications of antibiotics and copper fungicide.
Strepto Cycline @ 0.5 g per liter and mixing with COC 2 g per liter will help with control.
I have a small pomegranate tree with many fruits on it, but they are only golf ball size. Is my tree a different type from the large ones? I live in the Florida Keys.
Also, make sure your tree receives adequate water during fruit production, and that it's not deficient in nutrients, since low water or nutrients could inhibit healthy fruit growth.

There are older varieties of pomegranate that produce smaller fruit, so you may have one of those. However, some gardeners report that thinning their pomegranate fruits helps each fruit grow larger.
To thin, wait until the fruits start growing so that you know which ones have been pollinated. Then remove the smaller fruits in each cluster (at the end of a branch), leaving only the largest one or two fruits.
Another possibility is that your tree is just very young. As your tree gets larger, it may have better fruit production.
