Q.ZZ Plant

Zone Punta Gorda, FL 33950 | patragz@comcast.net added on June 12, 2016 | Answered

How do I go about thinning this plant. I bought it in a medium pot transplanted it to a bigger pot, which it outgrew, then I took it to a nursery who transplanted it again in a huge pot but it is now starting to outgrow this pot and I do not want it to get any bigger. I have trimmed some branches that when broken when we recently moved but it keeps getting new shoots and I don’t know how to trim it.

Thank you,
Pat @ patragz@comcast.net

ZZ plants are generally slow growing. Don't fertilize the plant.

Keep it more root bound to also slow it's growth.
You can trim the branches if they are too tall.
