Q.Zucchini leaves are getting brown

Zone I live in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada | Cathy Papaya added on July 4, 2015 | Answered

I bought two zucchini baby plants in May this year and planted in my garden. They have been doing well and started to produce until last week when their leaves started to turn brown. My husband has been watering them every day. I wonder if there is too much water for them. Please advise what could happen to the zucchini plants. Thank you very much for your help!

Did you notice yellowing leaves prior the brown leaves?
Yellowing is a sign of water issues, either to much or to little.
Daily water can be important if the soil is drying quickly but most likely the daily drink was to much for your plants to take.

Root rot can set in quickly if the soil is poor draining or if the roots sit in soggy soil.
Let the soil dry and see if any of the plant recovers. Little can be don if the roots have begun to die.
